God

People imagine that God has form and a body like we do. That is not so. God is Energy, a Divine Power, and Infinite Energy, a Universal Intelligence of which we are all a part.

Religion, in the olden days was the only platform for communication where priests tried to instil ethics, morals and social interaction. Religions of the world all teach the same fundamental truths in a way suitable to the time and type of people of the age. Prophets were sent to express the Divine Will. Zarathustra, the earliest of the prophets, taught the idea of monotheism and discouraged the worship of idols. He taught that Ahura Mazda was the Supreme Being who had given us life and who should be worshipped by the three tenets of our own lives by having good thoughts, speaking good words and performing good deeds. Purity in life, which he termed righteousness, was of supreme importance.

Later, we had Krishna who stressed the Karmic Law and showed that actions dedicated to divine principles were the main aim of religion. The law of motion, action, and reaction … positive and negative were explained. Next there was Buddha who taught that God was 'within' man himself and had advocated meditation and 'know thyself'. Then there was Mohammed who taught the brotherhood of man. He brought temples into peoples' minds. 'Where you are, God is'. Christ preached the vibration of Love. 'Love thy neighbour as thyself'; Brotherhood of man and Fatherhood of God.

Each prophet utilized the two aspects of preaching; the esoteric aspect and the ceremonial aspect, one being the core and the other the frill or dressing. In all religions the core is identical because it comes from the same source, but the frill and dressing differ.

Because it is difficult to understand what God really is, man has devised concrete symbols which can be used to represent the Almighty. Some call Him Ram, Shiva, Christ, Vishnu, Ishwar, Yahweh and many other names, and they make pictures, statues and models of them so that they can be concrete items to represent HIM. The fact remains that the God we worship has no form. God is a vibrating mass of Light Energy which divided itself into smaller masses of energy which could continue to vibrate. Those masses are what we call LIFE. Some matter so formed became very dense like rocks and stones, or less dense like wood and trees or else liquid like our seas, but these are all part of God, and we too became physical beings containing a part of Divine Energy. All living things have souls, which is what we are, living in a body given to us in which we live while on earth.

Every living, breathing life, be it insect, plant, animal or fish, has a soul….AND WHAT IS SOUL IF NOT GOD? So understand that each of us is an integral part of the Supreme Life Force Energy. So when we pray, we are actually praying to the God within. Prayers are not meant to take you up to the sky or down into the earth…only Inward. 'Look Within' we are told. When you want to communicate with God, the most common form of communication is through 'LOVE'. Love is the language of the Soul. Thought is also a way of communication because God has no way to literally 'speak' to you…But God does communicate with each of us through pictures, songs, books, teachers, painting, and so on. Each of us has to be open enough to ‘hear’ this language that God uses.

True prayer is a combination of words and vibrations, repetition creates vibrations which penetrate the aura and still the turbulent mind and still the whirlpool in our aura. The Best prayer is Silence. 'It is in the depth of Silence that the voice of God can be heard '. Silence is not only the absence of sound but goes far beyond anything that is concerned with the physical world.

In ancient days, man imbibed all ideal qualities in their version of God. Because provocation produced violence in man, they imagined that thunder and lightning and floods were signs that God was angry, so they tried to appease Him with gifts of sacrifice and food and prayers. Later, they crystallised Him into a symbol and we got phallic worship and figures in awesome forms to show His power. Finally, they imprisoned Him in a temple so that He would be available for worship.

The real God is the creator. Creator and creation must go together hand in hand. Creation is the manifestation of the creator. He is creation. He is all-knowing. Omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient, and His perfect law of cause and effect and constant change are perfect. God is Love; God is Joy; God is Light. Your very essence is Love, Joy and Light. Live and BE the God that you are.
