Channeling:

Good evening and welcome.

Namaste from Swami Yogananda!

Let us undertake a very simple, easy kriya; not one that is known in the books of kriya yoga, because it is just so simple. But it is the one kriya which will help you to attain conscious awareness, if you should choose that.

Join the tips of your fingers, starting from the union of your smallest finger. By touching only your hands, you will be working on 5 chakras: the root, the hara, the solar plexus, the heart and the throat.

Every kriya must start with right breathing. The in-breath must not be less than 5 seconds long. The out-breath must take, at least, 5 seconds to complete itself. Allow your complete consciousness to be on the union of your 2 small fingers that have, in this moment, created your root chakra. And breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Your conscious awareness is only on the union of the 2 small fingers. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Now become aware of the energy generated at the union of the 2 small fingers. Continue the breathing, pushing your boundaries of awareness to the energy generated by the meeting of your 2 fingers. You might become aware of the tingling of energy movement.

Let us go even beyond this. What is the direction of the spin of the energy? Become aware of the spin of the energy. If the energy is moving from back-to-front, your root chakra is giving you information that you are moving ahead, that your journey onwards is smooth and free of hurdle. If the spin of the energy is from front-to-back, your root chakra informs you that though you wish to move ahead, there is something in your past that is holding you back. As soon as it gives you this information, become conscious of the energy flow from the tip to the elbows. Somewhere in your forearm, you will become conscious of a place where energy does not move further. Be conscious of that place. Once the kriya is over, you can massage that place, gently, to release any obstacle.

If the energy movement is from side-to-side, the root chakra informs you that you are moving neither ahead nor are you in the past. It informs you to make a choice: which direction do you wish to move in? Where do you wish to go? Make the choice. Be conscious of the choice and very clearly, state this choice. Having stated the choice, be conscious of the change in the direction of the energy movement now. Be conscious of your breathing as well. Expand your consciousness to include both your breath and the energy at your fingertips.

Having finished the kriya for the root chakra, you may move to the hara formed at the union of the fingertips of the two ring fingers. The same kriya as explained earlier is continued for all the fingertips, where you become conscious of the wisdom of your chakric system, your central column of light.

While you are breathing, be conscious whether your breath is being caught in the inhale cycle or the exhale cycle. Are you able to breathe in easily, breathe out easily? If you can breathe in, without any disturbance, any variation, you are a very receptive individual. You are open to receiving both love and wisdom. If, on the other hand, there is a disturbance, then become conscious of where the disturbance lies. Is it in the throat area, the heart or lungs, solar plexus or stomach? Wherever there is disturbance in inhaling completely, there is special information stored in that region. Be conscious of that region, of the energy that is blocked there and allow it to give you its wisdom. When it has released all that it has to for you to understand, that disturbance will disappear.

If your out-breath is free of any disturbance and its flow is smooth and clear, this means that you are a very giving, generous, serving person. You can give of yourself, of your possessions, of your love and of your wisdom. You do not hold on to the past or to events and people and possessions. If there is a disturbance in the out-breath, once again, recognize where the disturbance is. What is it that you are not willing to part with or who are you not willing to part from or what is it that you are still clinging on to? Allow the wisdom to be revealed to you so that the hindrance is removed.

You can choose whether you wish to do the complete kriya of 5 chakras all at once, or whether you would like to do the kriya, in 5 parts, distinctly and separately. To end the kriya, gently allow your palms to lie open upon your lap, and only focus upon the inhalation and exhalation.

There is one more advantage of this kriya: it helps you to become aware of time without the use of a clock, for if you do this kriya every day, through the inhalation and exhalation, you will know 5 seconds very, very well. And then before you speak to anyone, at any time, you can allow a full 5 seconds to pass. That is time enough for the ego to equalize with the spirit, so that the words come from divine love, divine wisdom and divine power.

Simple, simple kriya, and yet vital and significant in the change it will make to your life.

Namaste from Swami Yogananda!
