20-12-2009                                                                                                       Part 14 of Special Series

Namaste!

Today, let us discuss your senses: your senses that work both as hindrance and as your greatest, most significant means of spiritual growth. But before we discuss their role and their function, we must discuss how senses are formed; the creation of senses, their energies, if you wish. We have already discussed the mental body and the emotional body. The energy structures of these 2 fields determine your senses; even determine absence of senses, if it is deemed fit.

Once the thought energy waves and the strands of emotion are firmly set in place, the embodied beingness begins to determine its physical structure, depending upon what it has woven into the mental field and the emotional field. It therefore determines the vehicles to express thought energy waves and emotional strands, whether they be single-stranded or double-stranded.

These senses therefore become the vehicles of expression for these energy fields. From this short description of your senses, you can understand how vital senses are to you. We repeat again: they are your vehicles of expression of these 2 most significant of your energy fields.

When the thought energy waves and the emotional strands are expressing themselves, without any modification (and we will explain that), the senses will represent the purity of expression: the purity of the expression of thought and the purity of the expression of the emotion.

Now let us, once again, throw our minds back to the earlier 2 discourses, where we have discussed that you can weave into your thought energy field a diversity of thoughts; just as you do in the emotional energy field. Therefore, you naturally weave in those strands, those energy waves that you might therefore label as positive or as negative. In fact, do not forget that the ultimate purpose of creating these energy fields is assimilation of that which is unassimilated. So you will have a very significant quantum of that which is unassimilated, which you label as negative.

The senses, when they are acting out of the purity of their function, express the thought wave or the emotional strand in purity. Purity of the unassimilated strand may come across as intensely aggressive, though we wish to call it, strong, expression. Let us, for example, take the energy strand of hate. When it is purely expressed, when the senses are working as pure vehicles of expression, the strand of hate would naturally be seen as virulent, fierce, vociferous. This is where we must now explain ‘modifications’. This mind, the adaptive mind that you work with on an every day, every moment basis, has been preconditioned to judge the ‘appropriate’ expressions of thought and emotional energy. Would you not judge one who hates intensely as one who is most negative, dare we even mention, not at all spiritual? And yet, that expression is far purer than one that you may have modified in order to suit society’s norms, conditioning and standard. Now whose senses are purer: yours or the one who is judged as not so spiritual? A pure sense would be able to express that which you have called positive in as strong, in as powerful, in as determined, in as devoted a manner as the negative. There is devotion to assimilation and in that devotion no modifications arising out of conditioned mind, are permitted to stop or obstruct or slow down the process of assimilation.

Of course, the expression (that which you see) of the thought energy wave and the emotional energy field will be as strong as the wave or the energy itself. If the thought energy wave is a dominant one, the primary one around which the entire thought body has been conceived and constructed, then its expression will be far stronger than the expression of, let us to make it simpler call it, a secondary thought energy wave. Similarly, if the emotional energy is double-stranded, its expression will be far more intense, more passionate, more, let us say, severe in many cases than the energy that is single-stranded.

Not many, in fact, just a handful of embodied beings living in your world, use senses as pure vehicles. We could go as far as to say that 100% purity does not occur at all. For even in him, and we will again take the example of that being who is expressing hate strongly and determinedly, even that person will modify the expression with a few persons; out of may be fear, deference to position and so on.

Having said that there is no 100% purity, we now go on to tell you that the stronger the levels of purity reached, the quicker is the assimilation of the strand. This might make you misconstrue what we have said and believe that only an aggressive show of the sense vehicles is pure. Not at all! 100% or anywhere close to that does not necessarily have to portray itself in violence or aggression. We gave you that example in order to bring forth the energy expression of hate.

But let us assume the energy expression is not of hate; it is, let us say, of loneliness coming from the need to belong. Now that energy expression of loneliness will not manifest as aggression or violence unless there is a psychological modification in the embodied beingness. At most times, even a pure expression of loneliness will be what you could call ‘gentle’. If it is expressed as depression, it is the modified state of the psyche of the person and is not a pure expression.

To understand senses is a challenging task. To understand them and not to judge them is an even more challenging task.

There are certain races that express themselves volatily. Is it pure or is it only societal?

That’s an excellent question! Of course it is societal, but society gives them permission not to modify their senses more than needed. The more, so-called, primitive the culture, the less touched it is with urban development, the purer will be their expression. In such cultures, if you and she hate each other, for example, and wish to have a battle unto death, it would be encouraged by that tribe, by that culture, for even if it should end in death, the volatile, powerful, mighty and pure expression of energies will release both from their entrapment, leading to assimilation of strands of both. Death is not seen as the final frontier and expression, honest expressions, are not condemned for they are recognized as being part of the human framework; not part of one’s beingness.

Did Hitler’s hatred for the Jews, on Earth, help him in assimilation?

Hitler’s assimilation of the strand of hatred reduced the intensity of the strand of hatred, for all of humanity, by 64%; by 64% from the human framework. In fact, it is one of the examples of a pure sense expression; not completely pure… that state of 100% pureness is really not one that is attained in the human embodiment, but as pure as it could get.

Could you explain this in practical terms how he assimilated?

No, not he, but we will explain this to you for yourselves because it is important that you understand how to express, therefore using your sense vehicles as pure vehicles. When you begin to use your sense vehicles in purity, without modification, without judgment and predetermined judgment, you give yourself the opportunity and the permission to take this opportunity to be that which you are, to do that which you have undertaken to do, to assimilate that which you have undertaken to assimilate in entirety.

We will not, here, limit ourselves to one or two thought waves and one or two emotional energies; we speak of them in general. It is then for each of you, seated here, to now study your mental body and your emotional body and then to decide, determine, understand, identify and know which assimilation is required from you.

Let us take an example of someone who wishes to express dislike. We do see that all present in this room are willing to acknowledge that dislike is part of their structure. Dislike is part of your structure. You may believe, let us say, that you dislike her. First of all, you have to understand that you do not dislike her. That is step one in expressing the senses as pure vehicles. You do not dislike her. The purity of expression is what keeps you in constant awareness when that emotion or thought associated with it arises, that she is one of the knots in your tapestry (pl refer to parts 2 and 3 of the series) to help you to assimilate. So you do not dislike her. The awareness of that must go beyond just intellect. Till you are certain that you know that, you are not ready to move to the second step. That, itself, will take some effort on your part because you have made yourselves believe that you dislike an object, you dislike an event, you dislike a person, you dislike a characteristic.

That’s what we don’t like about ourselves.

That is insignificant! That is insignificant! We assume when we talk to you, that by now every one of you is a little more than just intellectually aware of that aspect of projection.

Once you have reached that awareness that you do not dislike her, you are now ready to connect with the pure energy of dislike, without the dislike needing an external object. Till as long as you need an external object to show you the energy of dislike, you are not ready to proceed with clarity. You now have the opportunity to connect to the purest energy of dislike. Once you have understood that you do not dislike her, judgment itself comes to an end and when judgment is absent, you will not judge yourself or the other as spiritual, non-spiritual, right, wrong, good, bad, ugly, black or white. You will only recognize this as the opportunity for assimilation and you will proceed with that consciousness, completely absent of all modified thought or emotions.

Now how will you connect with this pure energy of dislike? By allowing yourself to feel this energy completely. How? This must be done in solitude, and by the action of breathing in. The action of breathing in permits the energy to be breathed out. You do not know where the energy has settled so when you breathe in, you are breathing in prana, which locates the energy, frees it, and breathes it out.

In this process, you begin to get bodily sensations. This is your most alert step. The body will inform you of the energy, its release and where it is. Of course, as the energy keeps shifting, the bodily sensations will keep shifting. Even though you have to be alert to the body, you are asked not to get caught in the sensations. Do not get caught in the sensations even if it is sharp, piercing pain or acute nausea. As soon as you pay attention to the pain or the nausea, it will increase. Just become aware of this sensation, register it completely, and then move on to continue to scan the body. The sensation will move as greater amounts of the energy of dislike are breathed out. This is step one.

You will need to do this repeatedly. We cannot tell you how many times for it depends whether it is double-stranded or single-stranded. It depends upon the level of natural resistance that your body will put up in the initial. But you have to do this repeatedly till, when you are breathing out, there is no bodily sensation at all. You have overcome the first hurdle; you have freed the body from this energy; assimilation is partial. Once the body is free of the energy of dislike, it will not be a magnet to another’s energy of dislike.

You are now ready to proceed with the emotional and mental bodies. You will now use your senses to see and hear and know and touch the energy. It might seem impossible as we speak, but we assure you, once you have purified the physical structure of the energy, you will be able to envision it, know it as energy, understand it as energy, hear its sound as energy, know its purpose as energy, and assimilate it completely.

When you do this seemingly long process with one thought or one emotion, you will find that several will become assimilated in the process, without you having given them separate attention. For with dislike, let us say, resentment will disappear, and with resentment expectation will disappear, and with expectation, disappointment will disappear, and with disappointment, non-acceptance will disappear, and with non-acceptance, rejection will disappear.

In Vipasana, we do not focus on an energy but we do all that you have said. We do get the sensations and they do disappear. We do get the feeling of being liberated but we do not think of it as one energy strand. We look at it as a totality.

In that totality, the task is more difficult and more challenging for the human mind needs an object to focus upon.

Can we do this with the strand of relationships?

There is no strand of relationships, beloved. Relationship is events and experiences that you have chosen to assimilate the strands; you have to identify the strand, not the experience. Do not attempt to resolve your experiences, for you might fool yourself into believing an experience has been resolved.

If we were to tap (EFT) alongside it, would it help?

Marginally, yes, it would, because it would help the meridian structure to free itself. But that would help, beloved, in stage one, when you are breathing in and breathing out.

So it would work the same way with aspects of ourselves, like victimhood and powerlessness?

Absolutely, beloved, absolutely! Beyond that look for the strand. Look for the strand. Which strand that lies unassimilated, beloved, makes you a victim. Always look for the strands. You have grown beyond the need for an event to be addressed. You now must move on to what you are being taught, to what your spirit is asking you, as beingness, to remember. What will be the purpose of this remembrance, if you still function as beingnesses that need to be experiencing their events? You do not need to experience your events. Once you know that you do not need to be experiencing the events, the events will not be. They will cease to exist because you have looked at the event and identified the strand, which is what the event was to do for you, in the first place.

Could you explain discernment? Where is it developed?

Where is it developed is an inaccurate question. How is it developed? Discernment is unmodified observation. How does it develop? As you assimilate your strands there is reduction of judgment, when judgment reduces, modification reduces, you can observe without modification. Modification is labeling of any kind; even ‘good’ is a modification, ‘beautiful’ is a modification, ‘spiritual’ is a modification, ‘wise’ is a modification. Discernment is unmodified observation.

It seems as though we will do nothing else but this…

What else is of greater import, beloved? We understand your question better than you think. We are not asking you to sit in a closed room and to be isolated from the world around you. We are not asking you to give up your activities, we are not asking you to give up your friends, and we are not asking you to give up your work. We are asking you to do this the entire day even as all the secondary activities are being undertaken. What we are truly urging you to do is to make this awareness and release work primary rather than all those activities.

When we see something as manifest, seeing as it’s happened, are we not modifying the whole thing?

We understand your question and it is a pertinent one, which needs an answer even though it does not strictly pertain to today’s subject.

Firstly, what you manifest is what your senses perceive. Are you all with us? What you manifest is what your senses perceive. If your senses are pure vehicles, they will, therefore, envision, they will listen to Divine Mind, they will touch Divine Heart. In their purity, they will not see what is actually there to see in physical manifestation. They will be able to see and hear and feel and smell and taste that which is not yet manifested and yet, because the senses are pure, they are seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting the energy of that which is already manifested in energy form. When the senses perceive that, it instantly drops into physical denseness.

Very, very often, those who desire to manifest, are not using the senses in purity. So though they may desire to see and hear and touch and feel and smell what they desire to manifest, they actually see and hear and touch and feel and smell what is outside of them already, so they only manifest more of that.

What role would the Rays play in the development of the senses?

The Rays help you to create the persona, the psyche, the bodies, the energy fields all that will be required as a super-structure to facilitate assimilation. Now, in that super-structure, also lie your senses, also lie your thought waves, also lie the emotional strands, also lie the psyche that you have created, also lie the awareness of events as they are to be. All of it is part of the super-structure. Depending upon the modification of the senses, the rays will work in their pure and positive form or their modified form.

How beautiful!

It is! The human body is the most sacred geometry ever constructed. It is so ironic that spiritualists wish to work with different sacred geometries, ignoring the most potent and the most sacred of all sacred geometries. If you can devote yourself to this sacred geometry that is YOU, you will merge with the universe for that is what you already are. All the knowledge, all the wisdom is in here; not out there!
