Hello everyone! We are moving into a period which I can only call, the heart of the Age of
Aquarius. The foundation has already been set. We are moving, very firmly, towards full
transformation, both global and personal.
It’s time for us to consider ourselves as the ‘universe’. It’s time for us to shed the energies we
don’t need. Let’s shift the focus, in a very significant way, from physicality to the spirit within.
It’s only then that we will find peace within ourselves and within our households, where the
male/female conflict will dissipate and then disappear altogether. No person can claim to have
never experienced male/female conflict. I don’t necessarily mean the conflict between us and
our spouses or partners. I’m talking about the energetic conflict that we face. The words we
exchange with each other, the arguments that we get caught in, the hurt that we experience as a
result of this, the rage that is also experienced, are nothing but a reflection of the male/female
energy conflict that prevails within.
When we are in imbalance, we tend to lean, in certain human interactions, strongly towards the
male energy, and in other interactions, significantly towards the female energy. There are very
few instances when we experience ourselves as complete union.
Before we continue, let us understand the difference between union and unity. Union and unity
are two stages leading to a common goal. The first stage is the stage of union, where the male/
female energies freely intermingle instead of posing as forces of resistance to each other. The
conflict with a male energy on the outside is a reflection of the resistance the inner feminine
poses to the inner masculine. Each time this occurs, I oppose the Goddess that I am. When union
is attained within, the next stage is the attainment of unity with all without. The goal of these two
stages......ONENESS.
In order to work towards this inner union, it is essential to understand how these two energies
flow. The male energy can be metaphorically, symbolically, be represented by an ‘arrow’ and the
female energy by a ‘wave’. The male energy, once it is released from its bow, cannot be swerved
from its path, nor can its direction be reversed.
The female energy, on the other hand, is a wave. It is gentle and undulating and it can
be ‘dammed’ in its flow. Thus, while playing emotional games of a martyr or a victim (the
imbalanced female energy), if there is realization, the games can be stopped at will, instantly.
The adaptive mind has no role to play in directing the wave, i.e. the female energy is not
determined by the adaptive mind. The male energy is directly linked to the adaptive mind. Thus
the Shiva energy is the energy of the intellect; it is the energy of Shiva that creates what we call
the intelligent mind. It is the energy of Shakti that is Divine Mind. For the wave of Shakti to
reach the heart, we have to allow this wave to flow unhindered.
The reason why the female energies get imbalanced is because we are so used to controlling
everything that we also wish to control the flow of the Shakti energy, not realizing that Shakti
flows best when it is ‘free’. We cannot control the flow of emotions. We can deny or suppress
them, but we cannot control their direction.
If Shiva is intellect, Shakti is intuition---union of intuition and reason. But unless Shakti flows
through intuition, Shiva has no energy with which to reason. When Shiva does not have the
energy pure energy released by Shakti, it uses the twisted energy of conditioned thought, that is
ego driven and personality influenced. Male energy needs focus (a point in time), while female
energy needs space; space to diffuse, to irradiate, to spread.
Now let us understand how the chakras are structured in order to receive both these energies, one
based in time, the other in space; one, intellect, the other, intuition.
The root chakra is strongly inclined to the male energy. Here, the female energy rides on top
of the male energy. Thus, the male energy gently carries and supports the female energy as
they move upwards to the hara, which is female energy inclined. This is Shakti’s temple. Many
consider the heart as her temple but it is not, it is the womb. Everything in the womb diffuses.
The energy moves outwards so that Shakti, the creative force, can energize all organs that she
has created as she nurtures and supports them.
In this chakra the Shakti energy is enthroned, but is again supported by the Shiva energy. When
she has diffused her energies completely, in perfect union, they move to the solar plexus, which
is Shiva’s temple.
Shiva shows himself, in all his might, in the solar plexus. Let’s understand why. Shakti has
already created in the womb. Shiva supports Shakti in everything she does. If Shakti’s creations
have to be manifest, she needs space and so Shiva must destroy what stands in the way of
Shakti’s creation. Shiva needs power and courage and strength but more than anything else,
Shiva needs Divine Authority.
Each of us has the ability to destroy but when destruction does not stem from Divine
Authority, we have a force that burns and kills. If we have to experience Divine Authority
within us we have to determine what it is that we are going to choose to destroy in ‘self’.
At this juncture, in the solar plexus, when Shiva reigns supreme, the supreme monarch with
Divine Authority to destroy, what is Shakti’s role? Shakti has no power to destroy. Shiva lifts
her up and holds her way above his head so that Shakti remains untouched by destruction. Here
is the picture to help you in visualisation: with one leg upon the globe and one hand supporting
Shakti, Shiva stands in our solar plexus.
And gently Shiva puts her down in the heart, and there the two lie side-by-side, intertwining,
like a thick rope. In the heart, when the Shiva and Shakti, the male and female, the yin and yang,
are in complete union with the interweaving of the two energies, the heart is able to see itself as
it is, as it was always meant to be. But what is more important is, the heart is able to see itself
reflected in all other hearts.
The heart is Shakti-oriented for Shiva does nothing in the heart till Shakti gives him permission.
Shiva can think, whereas Shakti can feel, and commands Shiva to translate this feeling into
thought, so that the thought energy, like an arrow, can be released into the world of men, because
that’s the language we understand, thought... science... Shiva.
And then the energies move to the throat, and what Shakti has felt in the heart, Shiva will express
from the throat. And that is why I was made to see why we are often told to stand up for our
truth. Have the power to express ourself. The words of love that we speak are the feelings of
Shakti, spoken by Shiva. Shakti cannot speak in a manner that is heard. Shakti speaks in silence.
Shiva wishes to be heard. And here, for the first time, Shiva is in front. Shakti does not ride
upon the Shiva energy but behind, acting as a prod, a push, to express feeling appropraitely.
But if Shiva is not in Divine Authority in the solar plexus, Shiva’s expressions may be abusive,
dominating, aggressive. If Shiva is not in Divine Authority in the solar plexus, the energy of
Shiva may be so weak that it will express itself as submission, weakness, docility.
The energies then move to the 3rd eye, the eye of Shiva. Here, the energies sit parallel to each
other, as Shiva sees what Shakti envisions. In the crown, they are indecipherable. They have
merged completely. Kundalini has risen from the root to the crown.
The kundalini rises within us, once every 24 hours. The male and female energies rise and come
back to the root as one cycle, every 24 hours, whether there in balance or imbalance. The energy
exercises that we do, aid in bringing about a balanced cycle. Each time the kundali9ni rises with
the energies in union, in balance, the DNA strands are activated. Each such cycle activates the
strands further.
The Star of David, the 6-pointed star, has two triangles; one with its apex pointed upwards, and
the other, with the apex down. These are the male/female energy triangles. Each time the DNA
strands are activated, something beautiful happens in the energy matrices of each one. This
sacred geometry, which is symbolic of the male or female energies, is activated. In those, whose
DNA strands are completely activated, the two energy triangles can be distinctly seen in their
auric field.
Before we start the inner union exercise, today, I take you back to thousands and thousands of
years ago, a time when the female form was considered menial, subservient, where the female
form was raped and attacked, assaulted. This conditioning, beloved friends, we carry even today
in our cellular memory as we attack the Goddess within us, and outside of us. When the inner
assault and battery of the female energy is fierce, it manifests as physical assault and battery
upon the feminine form.
Let us take a few moments of silence to firmly state and declare ‘we hereby choose, choose by
Divine Will, to move away from that conditioning. We hereby choose and choose by Divine Will
to permit Shakti to guide our life courses, so that Shiva can manifest the opportunities created
by Shakti.’ As women, we have suppressed anger, at levels that are conscious and unconscious,
against the ‘remembered’ rape, assault and battery of the female energy and the feminine energy
form. We must acknowledge this anger so that we wilfully choose, and choose by Divine Will, to
be free and liberated from this anger. Unless the human race, as a whole, can make these choices,
we will, forever, continue to live as we did thousands of years ago. Only our facades will keep
changing. I am reminded of the saying, ‘everything changes, yet everything remains the same.’
Shiva Shakti Meditation
Throughout this exercise, join your hands in Namaste, the two thumbs meeting at the heart.
Gently let us turn our attention to Shiva and Shakti in the root chakra. Shiva is active here,
focusing outwards. If the world threatens you, if you feel overwhelmed by the world, the Shiva
energy is not strong in your root chakra. Choose, and choose by Divine Will that you, the Shiva
of the root chakra, will give support and strength to Shakti, so that Shakti can receive messages
from the inner and the outer world and instruct Shiva upon how to change the world around you
and within you.
OM Namah Shiva! (to be intoned thrice)
Within and between the palms of your hands that are joined in greeting and blessing, feel the
interplay and exchange of Shiva and Shakti from palm to palm. ‘I am safe! I am safe! I am safe!
I give full permission for Shiva and Shakti to be in union, in this zone of safety and security.’
Riding along the central column of light that comes into the human form from deep within the
Earth, the union of Shiva and Shakti energies moves upwards, to reach the sacred temple of the
Goddess Creator. This temple is flooded with the most radiant golden light. ‘I am alive! I am
alive! I am alive! Shakti is life! Shiva is the living! I welcome life, and living!’ Allow Shakti to
receive the energy from the axis of light that comes into us from the bosom of the Earth. Allow
Shakti to receive.
With the fullness of life strengthening the union of the Shiva and the Shakti, energy moves to the
throne of the supreme monarch, the throne of Divine Authority, Shiva; the solar plexus chakra,
throbbing with power. That which Shakti has created in her temple, Shiva now manifests into
reality. ‘I powerfully create my reality! I powerfully create my reality! I powerfully create my
reality! I choose to take on Divine Authority, to destroy all that lies in the path of my fulfilment.
I choose not to abuse. I choose not to assault or attack, in any form. I choose to create my reality
only by the will of Divine Authority. I chose to honour all created impulses released from Shakti
and by her.’
In the power of this union, the energy moves to the heart, the two strands, weaving themselves
into each other. ‘I am love! I am love! I am love!’ Shakti speaks and Shiva replies: ‘I am the
force of love! I am the force of love!’
‘I choose peace! I choose to be Shakti energy in motion. I choose to be Shiva energy in action!’
This love, and this force of love, is expressed by Shiva’s words and Shakti’s silence, in the throat
chakra. ‘I choose to selflessly share my creations of light with all the world! I choose to share my
creations of light with all the world! I choose to share my creations of light with all the world!’
And together, God and Goddess ascend their thrones in the 3rd eye chakra, neither throne
bigger than the other, neither more prominent. Shakti’s inner vision, Shiva takes responsibility
to manifest as outward sight. ‘I perceive divine guidance! I hear divine stillness! I perceive
divine guidance! I hear divine stillness! I perceive divine guidance! I hear divine stillness!’
Separation vanishes, Shiva becomes Shakti, Shakti becomes Shiva, genderless, formless, in
union. The kundalini has risen in union, from the root to the crown. And as we breathe slowly
and deeply, this energy of union slowly descends the axis of light and resides firmly in the root
again.
Now before us opens a magnificent Star of David, the 6-pointed star, the sacred symbol of
the Shiva/Shakti union, the upward pointing male energy triangle in perfect union with the
downward pointing female energy triangle. ‘I choose to enfold the Star of David into my auric
field! I choose to enfold the Star of David into my auric field! I choose to enfold the Star of
David into my auric field!’
At the end of this exercise, when union is attained, your energy is 3oo times more powerful than
it was before you started.
Namaste, beloved friends! Namaste! |
