EXPECTATIONS vs ASPIRATIONS

What is expectation? The quest for this answer took me way back to when we first started our spiritual journey, to when we were told that our expectations are the cause of our conflicts and grief, and that it is because we ‘expect’ that we find cause to complain. I realized I was missing out on something. I was intellectualizing this word: expectation.

Then I started questioning: why have I been told not to expect? The truth is: we are all human beings, aren’t we? Isn’t it in our nature to desire something, to wish for this desire to be fulfilled? Is it possible for a human being to be free of such desires and such wishes? I realized it really is just not possible.

The highest of masters have also had a desire: a desire that their disciples be free of conflict or any kind of negative emotion, be free of hurdles. Isn’t that also a desire? So if the highest of masters is not free of desires, is it fair for the universe to give us this command to be free of expectation. This is a command that has been given by every scripture, by every known culture, whether ancient or modern, so it cannot be an incorrect command, and yet it didn’t quite fit.

That started a deep process of unveiling anther layer of truth. When I find that there’s a word that I may not have quite understood, I enjoy the journey of delving deep into that word. It excites me. What I came up with was so simple and yet so profound. I realized in a flash that here is the key to what all the masters have said but which we have not understood.

The highest of high masters desired that the world be a peaceful place, that people be free of conflict and dis-ease and disharmony. You and I desire that our families are looked after, our children are happy, that their dreams are fulfilled. These are not our expectations; these are our aspirations.

All this while, what we have been terming as expectation is not expectation at all and that is the reason why we are unable to free ourselves from it. We are attacking the wrong goal for we have confused the two words: expectation and aspiration. We have been trying to be rid of aspiration which, in fact, is the fuel for our energy growth. If you did not aspire to spiritual ascension, if you didn’t aspire to a higher vibratory resonance, why would you, day-in and day out, however difficult it might be at times, pursue this wonderful, joyful path of growth? If you didn’t aspire towards unity and oneness, why do you strive so hard to remove dis-ease and disharmony from within you?

Aspirations fuel us. No wonder we cannot be free of them. Even at the age of 6, the child aspires to get the prize of being the best singer, and when he receives the prize, on prize giving day, he feels a sense of wellbeing and attainment. That’s the sense you and I feel when one of our aspirations have been attained. And that sense of wellbeing and attainment brings us closer and closer to experiencing our divine potential.
If we didn’t have aspirations, we wouldn’t know what we are divinely capable of attaining.

That brought be right back to expectation. But I was now one step ahead: I knew that expectation is not aspiration. If aspirations fuel our energies, expectations are the prod to manifestation. Why have we been told to free ourselves from expectation? More often than not, we expect the worst. As we grow, we have been conditioned to learn to deal with tough times; save for a rainy day. It seems like sound advice and I’m sure I’ve given it to someone, at some time. But this advice helps us to expect the worst and be prepared for it.

If 90% of the time we expect the worst, does it not make sense when the Scriptures say that expectations are the source of human suffering because expectation is what you manifest? That is the keynote of this word: intent. The sad thing is we make intents with our intellectual mind; the expectation, on the other hand, lies deep within our subconscious mind. Where do manifestations rise from? Not the intellectual mind, but the subconscious mind. We create everything we expect.

If you have a particularly angry, faultfinding, boss at work, each time you enter the boss’s office, you will expect to be ticked off. Is it any wonder that your boss does not praise you at all? Then you say: it’s not about me; it’s about my boss. He is the nitpicker, the faultfinder. Of course he is! It’s his characteristic trait. But why is it manifesting for you all the time? He has other characteristics too. Why don’t they manifest for you? Because you expect this one.

I decided to view all the situations I’m in and this time seek out the expectations I hold about them. It wasn’t a very pleasant truth.

Then I found a 3rd angle, besides the two of expectations and aspirations. Perception. I realized that there are a lot of people around me whom I perceive as all kinds of not so positive characteristic traits. And sure enough they show those traits to me. I expect it. They show it to me. It will end when I shift my perception, which will help me shift my expectation. It does not take an Einstein to figure out that I am in conflict only with those persons whom I perceive negatively. I have no conflict with those whom I perceive in a positive, radiant light because my perception being positive, my expectation turns to an aspiration for self and them. Aspiration is the positive face; expectation the negative.

I’m still on this journey of completely shifting my perceptions but I wanted to share this with you so we could all be on this journey together. But wish to share a technique to help you understand how to tap into your expectations, because if you don’t know what your expectations are, how are you going to shift them around?

A client complains to me about her children. I ask her what she expects of her children and she says that she expects them to treat her with concern and care, to be grateful for the things she does for them. That’s not what she expects; that’s what she would like. That’s her aspiration. What she expects is that as soon as they walk into the door, the daughter will scream at her and the son will ignore her. Everything that is around us is created by what we expect.

Then I went from personal to large because 2010 is really about the large. Yes, we need to work on the microcosm but every tiny bit we do on the microcosm will translate to the macrocosmic level. If all of us expect this world to remain evil and at war and violence, that’s what we are going to create, with the portals of immense light opening up in 2010.

I’m constantly being asked when this period of Satyug (golden agae) is coming as people seem to be seeing more violence, more bloodshed, more crime. Because you are seeing it, you are expecting it and because you are expecting it, you are seeing it…………. and on and on and on.

We’ve got to change the picture because we’ve got to aspire to a world which we would be truly joyous to live in. But we’ve got to shift our aspirations and make them our expectations. We’ve got to stop expecting the worst and expect only the best, even if people call us ‘rose-spectacled, stupid optimists.’

When there was no telephone line, Bell knew there could be. Everyone called him an ass. When everyone thought the world was square or flat, there was one who said: no, it was round. They all called him stupid. So let’s welcome those comments. Let’s be those foolish, mindless, brainless, rose-colored spectacled optimists. Let’s expect the best.

Initially, you know what will happen? You’ll expect the best and receive the worst. Why? Because initially our exercise will start from here (the intellect). We will expect the best from our intellectual mind but within we will still be preparing for the worst. We’ll still put away that money away for a rainy day.

I’m all for the practice of saving but let’s see how one can shift from expectation to aspiration. How one can move from negative expectation to positive aspiration? Don’t save for a rainy day; keep money aside for something that will make you happy. I’m keeping money aside to send my children abroad for the best education. I’m keeping money aside to buy a home I will love. I’m keeping money aside to ensure that my family and I enjoy the best of health, wealth, happiness, joy, harmony. I’m not saving for a rainy day. I’m not saving that should I fall ill I would need to pay hospital bills. Everyone who saves for that eventually spends on that. Obviously you saved for that so the universe has to give you the opportunity to spend on that. In accounting terms you call it creating a ‘special reserve’. Special reserves can only be used for those specific purposes. You created the special reserve and that universal banker is saying we need to give you the opportunity to spend on that. Only we can free ourselves from it.

I’m going to guide you through a small exercise, which you can do in your own space, in your own time, to access your subconscious. I’m not going to ask you to tap into an expectation today. Being optimistic is wonderful but you have to learn to discern as well. To be able to access and understand your expectation, you have to be able to access your subconscious on a daily basis. It’s like talking to yourself all the time. We have to first gently open the door of your subconscious. Once you can open the door of your subconscious easily, on your own, then within that subconscious you access whatever it is that you wish: expectation, perception, root issue, whatever it is. But let us learn how to access the fullness of our subconscious mind.

Do this exercise slowly. Begin to breathe very, very deeply. Attempt to breathe in to a count of 5, breathing out to a count of 5. Slowly, with every exhalation, allow a warm breath of air to go down through your arms. Breathe in deeply and exhale through your arms. Now, as you breathe, exhale through your arms and your legs. Allow a warm surge of air to move down your arms and your legs.

You are safe. It is OK to allow yourself to access your subconscious. It is OK to move beyond your intellectual mind. You are safe. Gently allow the muscles of your eyelids to relax. There is only inner vision, only inner voice. Allow the muscles in your neck to relax. You do not need to be stiff and alert. You are safe.

Move into place of bliss. It may be a garden, a favorite room in your house, under the sea or in the clouds. This is your place of bliss. Here there is only a haven, a haven of light, a haven of tranquility. It is OK to allow your defenses to fall. You do not need them anymore. It is OK to allow all physical appearances to be honest and genuine. You are already beautiful. It is OK to stop trying.

Breathe into yourself. Exhale and inhale from within. As waves of energy circle around you in your safe haven, let yourself go deeper into your consciousness, deeper and deeper. Move deeply into your consciousness, going deeper, 10, 9. Beautiful waves of energy spread around you and through you, gently moving you down, 8, 7. You are losing control of all the physical environment. You do not wish to experience. Your body feels light. Your body becomes a body of light as you move even deeper to 6, 5. Your subconscious now begins to activate. Gently allow its energies to rise upwards to meet the conscious mind. Tendrils of light, of energy, from your subconscious mind rise upwards as you go deeper down to 4 and 3, going deeper and deeper. The doors of the subconscious stand wide open. It is a place of light and love. It is a place of truth. It is a place of divine wonder. It is a place of your divine potential, as you move through the portals of your subconscious with 2 and 1.

Here lies before you the beautiful panorama of your subconscious: joyful colors and the sound of divine silence. Here is where you have all the secrets that you so long wished to know, to unlock. If you are listening to this just now, it is because you are ready; you are ready to enter your subconscious, change it to your consciousness. No more do you have to lead a life of habit and conditioning. Experience the might and beauty of your subconscious mind. This is where you manifest. This is where divine potential becomes divine reality. This is where you rebirth as a spiritual warrior, an agent of light, a being of transformation.

Come to your place of subconscious each day so that every day you can go into this portal, this portal of wonder and wisdom, love and power. As we move deeper and farther into this portal, you will know who you are, what you are and you can be anything that you aspire for.

Channeling

I am Ra, Ra, the energy of the Cosmic Sun.

You wish to know more about these portals of light that are soon going to be accessible to you and by you. These portals of light are none other than the energies of the Cosmic Sun. The Earth has moved to a level where she can now take in the energies, not only of her planetary Sun, but the Cosmic Sun as well. The distance between the planetary Sun and the Cosmic Sun has been bridged, at least, by the planet herself.

As the portals of light open and the energies of the Cosmic Sun stream into your Solar System and as the Earth absorbs these energies into her atmosphere, two things will happen simultaneously: one on a human level, whether known to conscious mind or unknown, each living being will make a decision at precisely the time of each opening: whether to continue on, in living embodiment, in order to absorb, into the body structure, the Cosmic Sun or whether the energies of this cosmic body will be too great an interference. And thus the second event: each time a portal of the Cosmic Sun opens here for Earth, the energies of all those who choose not to absorb this energy into their physical beingness will join together, amass together to form a different body. You may call it another Earth.

For those who have been with us for so many, many years, you are already aware. You were told this over a decade ago that new earths are being readied, readied to hold what might be a mass exodus of those embodied beings who may choose not to absorb the Cosmic Sun energy into their beingnesses. We will not judge these as being inferior for each divine beingness has a purpose and a meaning for every choice that they make.

But this Earth, this planet that you, at present, reside and dwell upon, will soon only be able to house those whose physical bodies have become light body activated centers. Several, several of you have had your light body activations in the last 12 months. You did not know it then but it was to ready yourself for the portals of light that will pen in 2010.

The Cosmic Sun energies are a different strain, a strain that has not been experienced by the human body. And many, many, all over this Earth, have felt this process of physical readiness; being physically readied to meet this new, most vibrant light ever known to man to date.

But there are those who are still caught deep, deep within their trauma, their memories, their conditioning, their fears and their anxieties. Dis-ease and despair trap them more fiercely than you can imagine. These may not be ready for this kind of energy. In fact, if this kind of energy were to be forced into such human structures, such human structures would actually incinerate.

Even as you sit here today, you do not even know that your bodies have been readied. Even those who have consciously attended, been given the experience, the opportunities to shift and change their light body activations, even you do not know that your bodies today are changed completely. This change takes place at a cellular level, making the physical body into an environment that can accept such light.

For those whose bodies have not reached those light activations, they must have another place to dwell for the universe loves and embraces all. Their own energies will amass together and create a physical planet, a copy, a replication of the Earth with only one, but the most vital, most significant difference: the energies of those earths created will be still of the physical Sun; yours will be the energies of the Cosmic Sun.

The energies of the Cosmic Sun sometimes can cause disarray in a physical world. The reason is not to create deliberate chaos, it is not to harm and hurt, it is not to create disaster and bloodshed. The reason is: that this Cosmic Sun energy affects the cellular structures of all physical beings and objects.

You know already that the Divine Plan is not a fixed plan. It is a plan still in process, in progress, shifting and changing even as you shift and change. And thus Ra must confess that the universe does not know completely how some physical structures will respond to the Cosmic Sun energies. We are aware that volcanic activity can erupt and already, even as we speak, energy beings are surrounding active volcanoes and yes, some even dormant volcanoes that could erupt. Even as we speak, the seas and the oceans are being worked upon to ensure that the cosmic energies do not result in tidal waves. We are taking all possible measures but we still do not know. Never before has the cosmic energy streamed into a physical planet. Never!

We do not wish this to be a cause of your fear and your anxiety. Instead, we ask you to aid us in strengthening these energy bands around all physical structures: animals, birds, reptiles, fish, human beings, mountains, rivers, forests, deserts, we want them all covered.

2010 will be the year of unsettled energies. For each time a portal of Cosmic Sun opens, it will shift completely the energy equations known the moment before the portal opened. How exactly these shifts will take place, even the universe will know as it takes place.

Ra is here to ask for aid. All those whose bodies are light activated can help Ra in this process. By 2012 the complete force, surge of the Cosmic Sun energies will have been received by the Earth and then the Earth will use them to create herself anew. That is why nothing could be seen after 2012.

But we do know that the Earth itself, as a planet, will go through significant climatic changes: deserts will turn into seas and seas into barren land. Where there were mountains you will find plains and out of the seas will appear mountains of immense height. All of this will happen, but none of this, we desire that none of this create destruction and disaster.

The Galactic Council, the Federation of Galaxies are working tirelessly, working on each and every physical object and being. Plants are being used in a very significant manner: through the plants and the roots we are already moving streams of light which replicate the Cosmic Sun’s energies. The reason being that the Earth and her bowels should already feel partially what it will feel like when Cosmic Sun energies stream into the atmosphere.

The rainforests are being used in the most marvelous manner: through their roots they are sending the cosmic energies, not only into the fiery bowels of your Mother Earth, but deep, deep into ocean beds so that even the ocean beds are rooted in this energy, so that when shifts take place, as shifts will take place in the Earth’s plates, these will be smooth. The rainforest today are holding a treasure of that energy which we can only describe as a replicated Cosmic Sun energy.

And today, we wish to use you and your bodies, much like we use plants and the rainforest. You have, of course, the divine right to say no and we will respect that decision but if there is only one here who will agree we will proceed with this, what might appear in words as, a simple, short energy exercise, but will in effect be the rooting of the replicated energy into your being and through your being into Earth.

We create a pool of this energy about 16 feet away from your head. You can visualize this as a pool of shining white water. Waves of cosmic energy can be seen as ripples along this water. In order to facilitate ease of this energy, we ask you to fix your attention, at present, only upon your nostrils. Do not even be very particular about hearing our words for they are really insignificant. Receive the waterfall of Cosmic Sun energies. It flows gently around you, washing all your own energy bodies, washing away dis-ease upon and within the physical body.

And now gently entering the cellular structure, we urge you to please give minimal resistance to this process. It is our Divine vow that neither you nor anyone around you will be harmed due to this replicated Cosmic Sun energy that you have chosen to hold within you. It is done!

You might wonder whether you are the only ones holding this energy. No, you are not. There are others who have agreed to this task as well. In order to make more and more people aware, you must now be the carriers of this energy. Speak to those whom you intuit are ready to be the holders of this energy. If they should choose to be holders just as you are, all they need to do is to invoke Ra and make strong their choice, their agreement, to hold within their structures till the end of 2012 such energies that will now come to them and to you, from time to time, to ensure that this most major Earth shift is as easy a process as we, the Universe, which of course includes you, can make this. Those who choose to be holders, once they have invoked and made strong their agreement should sit in silence for just 5 minutes and allow the replicated Cosmic Sun energies to anchor in their cellular structures.

No person who is in very critical health state should be asked to do this. For yes, they may be holders but they may go through physical discomfort, which we do not wish to place anyone under.

From 2010 the energies of Ra take over your universe. No more is the Solar Sun your planetary logos. The Earth has joyously shifted to be held within the embrace of the cosmic logos: those energies which today come to you as Ra. Our colours are sapphire blue and gold. Make prominent use of these colours. These are the colours that strengthen and empower, that will contain the energies as the Earth shifts.
