How to break away from an addiction

Sir, may I ask a question? You, in the explanation about addictions, said the addict through his addiction contacts the Divine Spark. If that is the way, is it necessary to give up the addiction?
It is the ego’s way, little one.
And that has to be given up?
That must be given up because the ego’s way is never complete. Ego is always distinct from self. The true way to self is through self.
How does one easily separate from the ego to reach the self?
That is what we have already said that unless the addict is given another pathway, the addiction cannot be given up, because however thick the veil of forgetfulness, Spark must be touched. The other pathways that can be given to such addicts are numerous. Meditation and soul searching is one. The right kind of prayer, which arises not again from ego and mind, but from deep within is another. But, little one, addictions are very difficult to break out of because they have the force of the conditioning of soul memory behind them. For addictions, we strongly recommend past life regressions to be conducted only by those who are very, very strong in their awareness of spiritual and universal laws. Or else regressions can be dangerous. But when conducted by such individuals, regressions are extremely useful because they clearly show the pattern of the conditioning to the addict who is then able to break out from the pattern if he so desires.
Sir, may I ask a question? How do these prisoners break out of their mind, those who are prisoners in their own minds?
When this (pointing to the head) refuses to listen to the dictates of self, they truly are prisoners; the self is truly imprisoned by this master. And all mind related illnesses, are because the mind tries to satisfy its thirst for recognition through ego. And when mind is not satisfied, the mind begins to conjure up illusions. It begins to conjure up another ‘reality’ in which the mind can exist safely and the mind is satisfied and this becomes a hold which the mind keeps on having; greater and greater and greater till the mind separates from self, not only from self completely, but mind in its greatest delusion conjures up a universe all of its own. And in this universe the mind resides. These habits are the most difficult to break. It is essential to use the universal energy to overpower the energy generated by the mind not to break this make believe universe but to slowly replace the mind generated energy with healing universal energy, but a healer of great power is required for this.
Master, I wish to ask you some questions. Why is it that some people’s vibrations repel us, even though we are very close and some people we don’t know and yet seem----. Why is this?
When vibrations repel you, little one, it is because your aura and your etheric bodies have a vibration distinct from another’s. When another’s vibration is far lower than yours or far higher than yours, it will create conflict. And that is why there is a desire to move away, so that the two auras do not clash. But the second part of your question is another question. When another whom you have no physical knowledge or memory of in this lifetime seems attractive to you, you wish to get close to or there is a deep knowledge, a memory that seems to be re-awakened, it is just that. The soul remembers all and when another embodied soul comes towards it with which your Spark has had great bonding with, your Spark will glow with this memory and reach out to the other Spark.
Sir, please tell us regarding contact with certain people, how do you go beyond the feeling of repulsion or beyond the feeling of joy. We understand that it is a lesser or a higher frequency, but then what? How do we go beyond it?
Then you let it be. When you try and go beyond, what you are doing is holding on. You merely let it be. And that, little one, is the most difficult of all hurdles to overcome. Let it be. You have a wonderful song of let it be. You all must listen to it.
