Sai ka Pranam.

tere dwar khada hey sai,

khol dey yeh tala,

aur mujhe ley leh andar.

tere dwar khada hey sai.

bheek mangta ek bhikari.

(Sai is waiting at your door

Open up all the locks

And let me in.

Sai is waiting at your door;

A beggar asking you for alms.)

tu jabh kisi ko ghrina se dekhe, tu sai ko lath marta hai.

tu jabh kisiko kathortha dekhaye, tu sai ko chod deta hai.

har ek bhikari mein sai ko dekh.

har ek garib mein sai, har ek bhooke mein sai ko dekh.

aur bas de de thodi chai.

(Whenever you see another with contempt, you kick Sai away from you.

Whenever you see another with cruelty, you leave Sai’s hand.

In every beggar please Sai,

In the face of every poor person, every hungry one,

And give but one cup of tea.)

sai ko aur kuch na chahiye, sai bus bhooka phirta hai,

ki kab yeh darwaza khul jayega, aur sai ko mil jaye

ek ghar ki lali.

(Sai does not need anything else; Sai moves about hungry and cold,

Wondering when this door will open and admit Sai in, giving him a home

And heart.)
