Uranus disrupts. When Uranus comes into any sign, it drives strong shifts in consciousness. When it is in Taurus (as it has been for the past few years) it metaphorically shifts the ground beneath us, because Taurus is a strongly materialistic, earth-based, sign. We have already witnessed the often alarming changes in currency values, and turnovers and profitability of large-scale enterprises, and nations, that this planet, and its journey, has brought about. This is due to its call for a collective reset of values and money, and the general definition of “stability”, which also includes the physical matter of the human body.
Uranus is not a gentle planet. It doesn’t move things along in small steps. Its strength and its influence upon us create events that, though disruptive, are needed to break old patterns (individual and global), and force changes in areas where we’ve become stuck, due to over-attachment or deep resistance. Uranus brings, what some may call, a ‘rude awakening’- a shake up that is necessary for the realisation that a certain way of living is not working anymore.
Uranus is currently in Taurus (both, as per western astrology and Vedic astrology), the sign of consistency, rootedness and stability. Now this may seem like an antithesis; Uranus demanding change, and Taurus supporting stability. But wait... Stability does not necessarily mean lack of change. In fact, if you study this closely, the urging of Uranus in Taurus becomes clear: Seek stability in the face of all that shall change. Stay grounded even as what you once knew is no longer true.
The deeper purpose of this push is to bring maturity as we question our relationship with security. Once again (as with Jupiter and Saturn) the theme of redefining our values and beliefs becomes evident here … Are you confusing stability with attachment? Redefine stability! Redefine security! (Click here to read Part 1 -Jupiter – and Part 2 – Saturn – of this series https://www.jadefirelight.com/post/the-age-we-are-entering-our-collective-turning-point-part-1 / https://www.jadefirelight.com/post/the-age-we-are-entering-our-collective-turning-point-part-2-saturn-in-aries)
Uranus in Taurus demands long-term restructuring of the material world. This means that we, as individuals, and as a society, must confront our current values with sharp perspicacity … Are they sustainable in the newly evolving energy system? Are we creating the right environment to facilitate the changes needed? What mindset shapes our current values?
Let’s break this down, so that you can question yourself about the following:
· how do you earn, and spend your money
· why do you work (what is your primary motivation)
· how internally rich do you feel doing what you do
· what systems do you have in place to distribute your resources in a fair manner
· what place does respect for the Earth have in your material choices and lifestyle
· how are you looking after your physical body
· what, according to you, is your “wealth”
· what, according to you, is your “success”
· what do you believe you need in order to feel safe
If you are getting a bit overwhelmed, consider this - Taurus is strongly in your corner, and desires your safe and secure survival. Uranus is also in your corner, desiring your liberation from long-standing shackles of need, lack, scarcity and greed. Together, they are pushing through these changes so that we evolve from survival-based living (guided by the ego) to values-based living (guided by spirit). As a human collective, we are evolving from, “I need this to feel secure” to “I choose this because it is aligned to my/our spiritual evolution.”
The higher expression of Uranus in Taurus is freedom through self-reliance. This, in my view, is the highest form of liberation. Till as long as there is dependence upon another, whether it be for the purpose of emotional security or material stability, there shall continue to be fear and anxiety, and the naturally accompanying greed. I know that some of you may probably ask that all important question … how do I attain self-reliance when my life till now has functioned only upon what others have provided for me?
Before seeking that answer, pause and recognise what is often sitting underneath the question: the hidden lack of belief in self, the unseen fear of making mistakes, and the quiet dependency that has been normalised over time. It isn’t always laziness or a lack of desire; many were simply never taught how to trust their own capacity, earn their own stability, or take responsibility without panic. Self-reliance begins the moment you stop judging where you are, and start getting honest about what you have avoided learning, what you have been afraid to try, and what you have been waiting for someone else to solve.
From there, the path becomes practical: learn skills in small steps, build consistency before confidence, and prove to yourself, through small but repeated actions, that you are capable of supporting your own life. How long it takes you to reach the goal doesn’t matter nearly as much as this: start now, stay consistent, and build it daily.
This transit is pushing you to build stability that comes from:
skill (not just income)
adaptability (not just control)
fresh outlook (not conditioned mentality)
redefining how much you really need (not how much you are used to)
resilience (that necessitates you stepping out of your comfort zone)
On a global scale, Uranus in Taurus is disrupting existing financial structures, systems and policies, to show up what is exploitative, stagnant and unproductive. These disruptions shall continue to be seen in banking and financial systems, the ways in which we work and earn money, sudden changes in economic markets, unpredictable shifts in consumer behaviour, and a strong push towards sustainable business practices. Dear reader, the old era is well and truly on its way out. There could be even bigger financial crisis faced world-wide, but these have a significant purpose: Wake up! Stop blindly trusting what, and who, you have in the past!
Ask yourself these questions:
Do I actually own what I think I own? (Look into legal documents, contracts, and so on)
Is my money secure, or dependent on fragile structures? (Don’t continue to invest in the way you used to without widening your outlook.)
Is my career stable, or just familiar? (Am I being safe, or am I truly fulfilled?)
How adaptable is my financial portfolio? Will it withstand the disruption?
Taurus loves Mother Earth, and is more closely connected to her than any other sign. It asks you to explore investing in agriculture, metals, and anything to do with the physical Earth, using her resources without destroying her. The more you destroy her, the less she shall give to you. So look into sustainable farming, alternative energy, environmental restoration, and so on.
Of course, I recognise how challenging this mindset shift can be for many. It could certainly bring up financial fear, uncertainty and insecurity, and the resultant anxiety as we likely face scarcities of commodities. What I can also see coming up strongly is struggle around control: trying to hold onto it, regain it, or force it. This struggle is a direct outcome of the resistance to the changes that are already happening.
Look at different aspects of your physical and material life (and do not ignore your body in this study). Wherever you have not felt safe, you have been ‘clinging’. (That’s Taurus at work.) The more you’ve attempted to cling to it, the more fragile it seems to have become. And as it has become fragile, Uranus has brought in a ‘shock’ to completely break it loose. The lesson is to stop building security on fragile foundations; to disrupt the unhealthy relationship you might have with money.
Uranus in Taurus also impacts how we relate to our bodies. Whether it be comfort addictions, emotional binging, lifestyle habits, or sleep patterns, we are urged to realign with nature, understand our nervous system better, and opt for cleaner living and eating, following the middle of the road in everything from food to exercise to socialising and busyness. The less aligned you are, the more strongly shall your body force you to address those areas.
Global conflicts could intensify if resources are not fairly distributed to all. Greed and high-handedness can bring complete collapse of nations and national stability. When the material world becomes unstable, fear rises. When fear rises, people become reactive, and rebellious. Such conflicts often result in societies, at large, redeveloping their relationships with resources in an effort to regain stability that does not depend upon control or fear tactics.
Uranus doesn’t stay in Taurus forever. According to the framework of Western astrology, Uranus begins moving into Gemini before the onset of May 2026. With this movement, the planet shall shift its focus to communication, education, technology, media, and AI.
In Taurus, Uranus draws our attention to what we depend upon, and in Gemini it shall ask us to reappraise what we believe in. Where Taurus demands a reassessment of value, Gemini demands a reassessment of truth. The two phases fit together because they address our current evolutionary phase from different angles: Uranus in Taurus breaks the illusion of external stability, followed by Uranus in Gemini that challenges the illusion of our beliefs, and tests our thinking, mental strategies, communication, and our access to (or lack of) information that is open and transparent. AI, of course, shall get a huge boost from Uranus in Gemini, but more of this in the coming months.
Interesting times ahead, wouldn’t you say?
