Words That Hold Us Together

---EllaeenahJadeFire

Saying thank you isn’t just being polite -

it’s noticing someone,

letting them know they made your day lighter,

even if only by a little.

It’s saying,

I saw what you did, and it mattered tonight.

And sorry, when it’s real,

is not about guilt or shame.

It’s caring enough

to pause, look inward,

to mend the place where we went wrong,

and make the path between us smooth again.

These words are small,

but they pack a punch.

They steady relationships,

pull us close to each other,

remind us that kindness

is a choice we keep making.

Keeping our word is part of the care,

showing up, being present, being there.

It’s acting with truth, not bending the way,

not finding excuses to drift away.

Promises kept are quiet proof

that trust can grow and hearts stay full.

So we say thank you to honour someone,

and sorry to honour the truth.

Not to tick a box,

not to look good,

but because connection

is built on sincerity,

on small words offered with a full heart,

and deeds that spring from truth.
