Are they many different kind of soul contracts?

Yes, there are many different kind of soul contracts, but let us understand the ones that are most commonly experienced.

Karmic-Debt romantic contracts

Two souls who have created a strong imbalance (harm, betrayal, misuse of power, abandonment) could agree to meet again in a romantic scenario to bring that energy back into balance. This may seem counter-productive to you, but, in fact, such relationships give the souls the opportunity to choose love above all else.

Such romantic relationships tend to be very intense, and hard to walk away from even when they are clearly unhealthy. These relationships could involve intense energies of  obsession / rejection, ecstasy / despair.

Often such relationships will witness one partner who controls, manipulates, or emotionally withholds; the other chases, pleases, or collapses. Cheating/betrayal themes may keep repeating or there could be considerable fear of being cheated. They may ‘break up’ but inevitably find their way back to each other. This is due to the souls’ urging to break the old patterns. If the patterns are not broken, the loop of break-up and coming together may continue. These contracts primarily focus upon balancing the imbalanced energies.

For the karmic debt to be cleared in romance, the one who misuses power must choose accountability, vulnerability, and truth, instead of hiding behind the mask of power. The one who is wounded, must choose self-worth, boundaries, and inner safety instead of self-abandonment. Once that happens, the relationship could transform into something more stable, and healthy OR it could dissolve, but without blame or resentment.

Karmic-debt friendships, and other karmic-debt non-romantic contracts would also work much in the same way as karmic-debt romantic contracts.

Karmic-Lesson romantic contracts

These romantic relationships offer learning for both, but no debt or feeling of ‘pay-back’.

The lessons could be about healthy boundaries, mutual vulnerability, balancing freedom and commitment, mutual responsibility, self-respect, emotional honesty, and so on. They do not have the extreme highs/lows of a heavy karmic-debt relationship, and though there would painful periods there is far less blame, and guilt than in a karmic-debt contract. These contracts focus very strongly upon the elimination of karmic templates of both the souls.

Karmic-lesson friendships, and other karmic-lesson non-romantic contracts would also work much in the same way as karmic-lesson romantic contracts.

Non-Karmic romantic contracts

Two souls may choose to incarnate together in love, with no major imbalance to fix; just shared growth, joy, and purpose. Or for one to learn a lesson, and the other to support that person in this process. These relationships feel safe and supportive, and are navigated with open and honest communication and mutual respect. Often such contracts take place in order to support each other’s spiritual journey, or to anchor a frequency of love, forgiveness and compassion, into the lineage of both.

Non-karmic contracts involving friendships, and other contracts would also work much in the same way as non-karmic romantic contracts.

Family & Ancestral contracts

Family systems are full of contracts. Some are karmic-debt, some are karmic-lesson, and some are pure support.

Parent–Child Karmic-Debt contracts

A strong imbalance between souls where one misused their role/power in another time, can lead to a contract in this lifetime to experience the other side, or to heal the wound at its root.

Examples:

  • A soul who abandoned their child in another life may return as the child who gets abandoned, or as the parent who now faces an opportunity not to repeat abandonment.

  • A soul who was the abuser may incarnate as the one who is vulnerable, learning empathy and humility.

Parent–Child Karmic-Lesson contract

Here, you’re not repaying something; you’re learning through roles.

Examples:

You choose a strict parent to learn to find your voice and strength. You learn to self-validate instead of seeking external approval.

You choose a fragile or unwell parent to learn compassion and resilience. To learn to give and receive support.

Non-Debt Family Contracts

These are the souls who incarnate to bring something positive into a family dynamic. This may involve only one or two persons or the whole family.

Examples:

  • The gentle person who is the ‘safe’ place for all in a chaotic family.

  • The grandparent whose love is like a sanctuary for the grand-children.

  • A child with a naturally open heart who is born into a family, and lifts the vibration of the home by simply being themselves.

These contracts could also anchor new patterns in the lineage (such contracts are contracts between the soul and the entire lineage), and act as healers, teachers, catalysts of radical change, and support systems.
