Soul Contracts & Karmic Debts (Part 1)

...EllaeenahJadeFire

After learning such deeply profound and 'new' truths about the relationship between our soul and the chakric system, I sat down to ask my Cosmic Master JadeFire, more questions that I desired answers to. Here are those answers. (If you haven't yet seen the in-depth videos on 'A Revelation Into Chakras' (Parts 1 and 2) here are the links https://youtu.be/YElIvWnKrnI and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEZi6HfEisk

Every karmic debt is a contract, but not every contract is a karmic debt.

Let’s go slowly and be very explicit, layer by layer. Let us understand a “contract” vs “karma” vs “debt”.

A soul contract is an agreement between souls to bring to each other, events that shall help them to experience, explore their patterns of thought, belief and reaction, and learn lessons chosen by the soul in this lifetime.

A soul contract can involve people and situations (e.g. “I’ll be your child so you can learn to open your heart” or facing patterns of betrayal in order to mirror the karmic template of betrayal within). But, it is neither “punishment” nor “payback”.

Karma is the energetic consequence of choices, actions, and intentions that haven’t yet fully resolved, integrated, or balanced, i.e. the negative charge released by them has not yet been transmuted into the positive energy of the soul.

Karma is not “the universe punishing you”. It’s more like cause and effect held in the soul’s memory. Karma is unresolved energy, not a moral label of “good” or “bad”.

Karmic debt is an imbalance where energy was significantly distorted, and now seeks to be re-balanced.

Examples:

  • Deep betrayal

  • Abuse of power

  • Abandonment that created a strong wound

  • Oaths, vows, or promises made and then broken in a way that bound another soul.

So, whereas karma is unassimilated energy, a karmic debt is unassimilated energy that also includes strong imbalance. A soul contract is agreed upon in order to meet, and co-create a situation that would allow the positive integration of the energy to take place, and the full resolution of the imbalance.

Do all contracts have karmic debts?

No. Some contracts are about balancing. These involve a karmic debt.  Some are about mutual support for lessons to be learnt. In such contracts there is no debt. A few others are about pure service…only one soul has lessons that it wishes to learn, and the other soul offers help purely as a service of support, without any personal gain.

Karmic-Debt contracts often feel very heavy and intense. These are the ones people usually think of when they say “karmic relationship.” They may often involve a strong emotional charge (love/hate, obsession, guilt, resentment), repeating patterns (same argument, same dynamic, different faces), and an inability to walk away from such contracts.

Karmic-Lesson contracts involve karma in the broader sense (learning, cause/effect), but not debt.

Example:

You want to deepen self-worth. You contract with someone to mirror back your self-abandonment patterns so you wake up to them. Though these contracts may also be challenging, they are not “you hurt me so now I hurt you”

Non-Karmic contracts (based upon pure service)

They exist because there is a very old and deep bonding of the souls. They often share a common purpose, or a common earthly awareness of purpose.

Examples:

A friend who feels like ‘home’ to you. A child who comes to you simply to help you learn how to nurture selflessly.

These contracts do not involve 'suffering' even if the situations themselves are challenging. Even if the situation involves 'sacrifice', this does not feel like suffering.

How do karmic debts manifest as soul contracts?

A karmic debt contract shall include what can be called an ‘imbalance clause’… in earthly terms you could understand this as  “I took power from you / I harmed you / I abandoned you.’

It shall also include a ‘balancing clause’. Again, to explain in earthly terms, “We agree to meet again so that I can experience the other side/ you can reclaim your power/ we can both move from fear to love.”

A karmic-debt contract involves full and complete free will. So, you can repeat the old pattern again, and thus add more layers to the karmic template, or choose differently, and thus heal, forgive, and clear the imbalance.

When two souls enter a karmic contract, the purpose is growth, learning, and the balancing of energies between them. These contracts often involve repeating patterns, emotional triggers, or unresolved themes that seek healing.

If both individuals become aware of the lesson within the contract, and they apply these insights, both, in their personal behaviour, and in their interaction with each other, the karmic imbalance naturally dissolves. The energy that once held the contract in place becomes integrated into the higher frequencies of the soul. When that happens, the karmic “debt” is resolved, and the contract no longer needs to continue.

But more often than not, there is only one person that integrates the lesson.  Even if the other person is not conscious, is resistant, or is unwilling to grow, one-sided assimilation and liberation is still possible. Karmic contracts do not require both parties to awaken simultaneously even though they require that the lesson be learned by both and that the pattern no longer be repeated.

If one person chooses consciousness instead of reactivity, compassion instead of judgment, forgiveness instead of resentment, acceptance instead of resistance, responsibility instead of blame, peace instead of discord, they effectively stop their end of the old karmic cycle. This shifts their vibration, and that person is no longer bound by the contract.

When you consciously choose a new response, you break the energetic chain and reclaim your soul energy frequencies. Whether the other person continues in their patterns is part of their journey, not yours. So, karmic freedom does not depend upon the other’s behaviour. It depends upon your level of awareness and your willingness to respond with higher consciousness.

How can you tell if something is karmic debt contract or not ?

A Karmic Debt contract will show up as:

  • An intense charge regarding the other person (anger, guilt, obsession, hatred, terror).

  • The relationship brings up the same wound repeatedly, even if you change partners.

  • There’s often a distinct sense of power imbalance, betrayal, or abandonment.

  • You feel “bound” -  even if you do walk away physically, the energy still remains hooked, and the way you react will very clearly show you how strongly you are hooked to the energies of the other.

A Karmic-Lesson contract results in the conflict getting resolved more easily, with mutual respect. You walk away, if you need to, without feeling like your energy is still hooked.
